Answers to common questions, and how to reach us.
How do I add leftovers?
Type or dictate what you put in the fridge the way you’d say it: “Monday’s chicken dinner,” “rice from last night,” or “soup 2 days ago.” Leftover Clock works out the kind of food and the day you made it. With the text box empty, tap + for a menu of common leftovers.
How does it decide when food has to go?
It uses USDA FoodKeeper storage times for refrigerated leftovers. When the guidance gives a range, like 3–4 days for cooked chicken, it uses the shorter end. Tap any item to change its type or dates. To see every food type, tap the ⓘ button.
When will I be reminded?
At 5 PM the day before food’s last day, and again on the last day itself. On the last day you’ll also see a countdown on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, starting at 10 AM.
I don’t see the Lock Screen countdown
- Open Settings → Leftover Clock and make sure Live Activities is on.
- The countdown only appears on an item’s last day, from 10 AM.
- If notifications are off, turn them on in Settings → Notifications → Leftover Clock.
Can I use Siri?
Yes. Try “Hey Siri, add leftovers to Leftover Clock,” “What should I eat from Leftover Clock?” or “I ate the chicken dinner in Leftover Clock.”
How do I add the widget?
Touch and hold your Home Screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and choose Leftover Clock. Tap ✓ on the widget when you’ve eaten something.
How do I mark something eaten or thrown out?
Swipe right on an item to mark it eaten, or left to mark it tossed. You can undo for a few seconds afterward.
Where is my data?
Only on your iPhone. Leftover Clock has no account and sends nothing anywhere. See the Privacy Policy.
